What is the Rubus GTX Jacket?
The Rubus GTX is a versatile shell jacket that uses Gore-Tex® to maximise its waterproofness. It's the ideal jacket for wet mountain conditions where you need a reliable and durable piece to help you reach the summit.
What is it made of?
This jacket is made with a waterproof two-layer Gore-Tex® material.
Though two-layer Gore-Tex® is waterproof, it's also highly breathable. It allows sweat vapour to pass to the outside of the garment, helping you stay fresh while working up a sweat on steep inclines and technical terrain. It also provides complete windproof protection, so you won't start to feel the chill even when it's blowing a hooley.
The material is treated with a PFCEC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to enhance the resistance without causing harm to the environment. It's also bluesign® approved, ensuring it's safe for the environment, consumers and workers involved in making it.
What are its features?
The Rubus is designed with a slightly longer fit for better coverage around the waist, improving weather resistance and heat retention to keep your body's microclimate in check.
It has a two-way adjustable hood and three pockets in total, including a zippered chest pocket for valuables like a mobile phone or GPS device. The jacket is fully adjustable to optimise the fit over multiple layers, and sleeves are articulated for improved freedom of movement. The velcro adjusters can easily adjust cuffs to fit around chunky mitts or gloves.
The torso of the jacket is mesh lined to promote breathability, perfect for mild but wet conditions where you're more likely to feel a little clammy. Finally, the front is fastened with a two-way water repellent zip with an inner placket to help keep moisture out.
