What is the Dura 5R?
It's a durable sleeping mat designed for camping in any season and terrain. Suitable for an array of expeditions, multi-day alpine adventures and even polar missions, the Dura 5R balances longevity, light weight, warmth and comfort perfectly.
What is it made of?
The outer is made using recycled polyester, which is durable yet light and helps to reduce overall weight. By using recycled material, Exped is helping to keep plastic out of landfills and uses less water, energy and CO2 to produce this mat. The material is also Oeko-Tex® 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances to provide product reassurance, confidence and safety.
The outer has a TPU laminate finish for extra abrasion resistance, eliminating the need for a DWR, as the finish naturally beads water. This combination of materials is bluesign® certified, meaning it's manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
Texpedloft microfibre is used to insulate the mat; this synthetic insulation provides ample warmth with a bit of extra durability and weather resistance, making it ideal for use in rugged terrain and poor or harsh conditions.
What are its features?

Synmat Technology™ utilises the insulation, which is welded to the top and bottom of the air chambers to ensure maximum warmth and a consistent performance from the mat. A 7cm air cushion cradles the body to deliver optimum comfort for a good night's kip, and head-to-toe air chambers provide equal support for the body.
A Schnozzel pump bag is included with this mat to make for rapid, easy and moisture-free inflation, so you don't have to blow yourself dizzy setting up camp!
