What is the Kid Comfort Active?
The Kid Comfort Active is the lightest child carrier in Deuter's range, weighing just 2.5kg. Despite this, it doesn't scrimp on features and includes an adjustable seat, aluminium frame, comfortable inner materials, a folding design and much more.
What is it made of?
The Kid Comfort is made from a mix of two fabrics, Deuter's Microrip Nylon and Super Polytex. A 210D nylon is used throughout the areas of the bag that are subject to higher wear, while Polytex is used in areas less prone to abuse to reduce the overall weight. Both of these fabrics feature a durable water repellent coating to repel light rain.
What is the backsystem?
Deuter use their Compact Lite Aircontact backsystem to reduce the overall weight of the bag without sacrificing on comfort and breathability. A lightweight foam with cut-outs is used in the centre of the backpanel to allow air to circulate, therefore increasing breathability, while a thick, comfortable foam with mesh layered over the top is used on the contact points such as the hipbelt, shoulder straps and outer of the backpanel. The hipbelt features a slit in the centre of each fin to allow the belt to mould over your hips comfortably and securely.
What are the features?
A height-adjustable child seat with varying cushion widths means you can fine-tune the fit depending on your child's age and overall size. Height and width adjustable foot rests add more security and keep muddy shoes in place. Inside the seating area, you'll find mesh inserts to provide a cool environment, soft fabrics along the top to increase comfort and easy to wash fabrics on the bottom of the seating area. Moving down, you've got a sturdy aluminium frame with a broad base to allow the bag to stand up by itself; this base also has a locking function to prevent it folding accidentally. When you do want to transport the carrier easily, it will fold down and includes two grab handles for easy transportation.
