What are the Impulse Gloves?
The Impulse Gloves are designed for gnarly ski touring and snowboarding adventures, built with Black Diamond's very own athlete team in mind. They provide a high level of warmth and durability and are highly dexterous, allowing you to achieve precision every time you wear them.
The insulated leather construction makes them versatile enough for more relaxed winter activities and backcountry chores too, like axing wood and dealing with burners when camping.
What are they made of?
These gloves mainly use goat leather in their construction, which is highly durable, naturally waterproof and supple to provide plenty of flexibility. They have EVA padding on the back of the hand and knuckle for extra reinforcement and added impact protection. Cuffs are made with low-profile neoprene material to provide a warm, secure closure around the wrist, boosting heat retention and helping keep the powder out.
The Impulse Gloves are insulated with 200g Primaloft® Gold with Crosscore technology on the back of the hand, a woven synthetic insulation. It is the Gold standard of Primaloft® insulation, providing the ultimate level of warmth compared to other fibres. The technically advanced fibres are infused with Aerogel technology, which is used by NASA and acclaimed for its ultra lightweight yet ultra insulative properties.
The palm of the hand uses 60g PrimaLoft® Gold Eco with added grip control, which performs similarly, providing exceptional heat levels even when wet, yet has added slip resistance to help give you more grip under the hand.
They are lined with a Gore-Tex® waterproof insert with added Gore® Plus Warm technology, making them fully waterproof yet breathable enough to help prevent your hands from feeling clammy and sweaty when they're being worn. As you may have guessed, the Plus Warm technology optimises warmth and maintains heat for longer.
What are the features?
Generally, these gloves are pretty low bulk and lightweight for how robust and warm they are! They're snug on the hands for accuracy when worn and allow the insulation to build maximum heat for wintry conditions. They have a wide-band wrist leash that provides all-day security and comfort.
