What are the Glissade Mitts?
These mitts might look cute and cosy, but they're really a burly piece of gear that every mountaineer needs in their kit bag! The Glissade Mitts are suitable for every season and offer reliable waterproof protection and warmth for cold conditions.
What are they made of?
The outer shell is made of Pertex Shield® with a four-way stretch, providing windproof, waterproof protection and flexibility in the form of a traditional mitten.
Pertex Shield® is known for its reliability and durability, being able to resist wear and abrasion from rugged surfaces and providing complete protection from wet weather.
A 100% waterproof BD.dry™ insert reinforces the weather resistance for extreme conditions.
Palms are also strengthened with goat leather and military-grade Kevlar® stitching that is extremely strong and heat resistant.
Thinsulate® insulation is added to the back of the hand and the palm for warmth. It's a lightweight synthetic insulation that mimics down but retains heat when damp, perfect for unpredictable conditions.
Finally, the mitts are lined with a soft fleece material. They feel incredibly comfortable and cosy next to the skin.
What are the features?
Most of the techy stuff lies within the materials used to build these mittens. But, as for their features, they have a long gauntlet cuff and quick-cinch adjustment system to help keep the heat in and the weather out.
