What are the T3 Heavy Trekker Socks?
They're super warm socks that provide exceptional comfort and protection from impact - perfect for challenging winter days in the mountains and made with a blend of reliable Primaloft® and natural merino wool for optimum performance.
What are they made of?
They're made of a blend of Primaloft® yarn, Merino wool, stretch nylon and lycra to create something wonderfully soft, stretchy and comfortable with the ability to wick away moisture effectively.
Primaloft® is made up of ultra-fine polyester fibres which give it a luxuriously soft feel. These fibres can wick moisture away effectively to stop sweat and moisture from building up in the material, perfect for intense activities like hiking, scrambling, and multi-activity adventures. Though breathable, the fibres are still able to efficiently trap heat to keep your tootsies warm on cold days.
Merino wool is naturally warm and moisture wicking to enhance the overall performance of the fabric.
Added stretch nylon and Lycra improve robustness and flexibility and allow the fabric to stretch up to six times its length and still return to its original shape. It also helps to stop it from bunching up and slipping down the foot as you walk.
What are their features?
As you may have already guessed, a lot of the techy stuff comes within the fabrics used. However, these socks do have a mesh instep that minimises bulk over the top of the foot to encourage more heat and moisture release and allow your feet to create their own little balanced microclimate inside your shoes or boots.
Heavy cushioning protects the feet from impact and a flat knit toe seam minimises irritation around the toes and prevents seams from digging in at the front.
As many traditional trekking socks do, these come in a crew style that generally sit halfway up the shin.
