What are the Dynamic XT Pants?
Montane's Dynamic XT Pants are the ideal trousers for lightweight mountaineering and ski-touring. They provide plenty of stretch, weather resistance, warmth and comfort for long days in the mountains, with an ultra-slim fit to allow improved freedom of movement for fast paced, technical adventures.
What are they made of?
Montane has used Mala Thermal with Cordura® to construct the Dynamic XT Pants. Mala Thermal with Cordura® offers a high level of warmth for tackling cold conditions and is robust and stretchy for maximum durability and freedom of movement. The material has a warm, brushed backer that feels luxuriously smooth and soft on the skin and is extremely durable to withstand rugged mountain terrain. It has a durable water repellent treatment to encourage light rain and snow to bead off the material, however doesn't offer complete waterproof protection.
The trousers have Schoeller® Keprotec® Kevlar® insteps that are extremely strong to add extra reinforcement around the ankles, where they'll likely get beaten up from rocks, abrasion and crampons catching against the fabric.
What are their features?
These pants have a classic fly opening with a button closure and loops added around the waistband if you prefer the extra security of a belt.
Mesh lined thigh vents fastened with YKK® zippers allow increased airflow when you're working up a sweat. They're perfect for a quick heat dump, allowing warm air to quickly escape when unzipped.
For storage, there are two mesh lined hand pockets with YKK® zips, ideal for storing goodies like hill-snacks and energy gels. These pockets also double up as vents. Simply leave them unzipped to allow warm air to escape. The zipped thigh pocket is better for storing bulkier possessions, such as a GPS device or mobile phone, as it's less likely to get in your way if you're tackling a steep ascent and need maximum flexibility around the hips.
The knees are articulated for improved freedom of movement, by giving you extra space where you need it most, and zipped ankle gussets are ideal for ski-tourers.
