What are the Terra Pants?
If you’re asking yourself this question then where have you been?! The Montane Terra Pants are legendary in the outdoor world. They’re exceptionally breathable, as comfortable as a pair of pyjamas, wind resistant, water resistant and tough. They're one of the best lightweight trousers available and can be used for just about every activity; whether that's climbing, walking, mountaineering, backpacking, travelling or just generally living in. They’ve had a small update for this season, but rest assured that the fit and materials are still the same as they’ve always been – perfect!
What are they made of?
The main bulk of the trouser is made from Montane's Tactel fabric, an almost cotton feeling material which is wind and water resistant, tough, quick drying and about as comfortable as a pair of pyjamas. This is then reinforced with Cordura patches on the seat, knees and inner ankles (main wear points). Cordura on the seat protects against moisture and rubbing while sat down, the knees when climbing and the inner ankles when wearing crampons or wading through brambles.
What are the features?
Adjustability is carried out by an included and removable webbing belt and elastane around the waist. Pockets wise, you get two zippered hand pockets with mesh linings (great if you get water in there as it'll drain straight back out rather than drowning your phone), a zipped security pocket and two large mesh-lined thigh vents (not technically pockets). These vents allow you to dump heat quickly when moving fast or when you're in hot environments.This season the Terra pants have bene updated and now give you a zipped rear pocket too! Increasing the comfort even further is articulation around the knees, ensuring you're not restricted during even the most demanding climbs.
