What are the Kinetic 2.0 Pants?The Women’s Kinetic Pants have been used and loved by Trekitt for years – the New 2.0 features updated materials and an improved fit to make this classic even better. The Kinetic Pant is a very unique creature; it takes the softness, stretchiness and breathability of a softshell trouser, and the waterproof capabilities of an overtrouser to create a trouser halfway between the two. It’s the stripped down version of the Kinetic 2.0 Pants – these are lighter and, thanks to their great next to skin comfort, are more than comfortable enough to wear and keep on all day. They’re perfect for use in the same situations as you'd normally use softshell trousers, but where the weather may be a little more changeable.
What is the Kinetic Pant made from?The Kinetic uses Rab's own Proflex fabric. A massive update to the Kinetic 2.0 is that the Proflex is now Recycled! This fabric is stretchy, breathable, lightweight, and completely waterproof; this makes it ideal for a wide range of mountain activities thanks to its incredible comfort and weather protection. Rab have used two different weight of Proflex in the trousers to perfectly balance durability, weight, and breathability.
Despite its waterproof capabilities, this outer fabric feels more like a traditional softshell and is exceptionally comfortable next to skin. Inside the trousers, a soft knitted fabric sits next to skin and actively wicks away sweat when you're working hard.
What are the features?Starting at the top, the trousers feature a low-profile elasticated waist with a silicone grip inner to fine-tune the fit and a YKK zippered fly. Storage wise you get two YKK zipped hand warmer pockets, concealed rear zipper pocket. The zippered hem gusset at the bottom of the leg can be undone to widen the cuff for bigger boots. The pants also have articulated knees for a better range of motion.
How does the Kinetic pant fit?The Kinetic 2.0 are slimmer fitting than your classic over trouser – this is so you can wear them comfortably all day in gross conditions and you won’t have loads of excess material flapping around. The fit has been updated in this model and now features Rabs Women’s ‘Regular fit’ which is a bit mor generous than their slim fit, so if you want to get a layer on underneath it than you can!
Where does the Kinetic 2.0 pant fit in the layering system?Although this isn't designed to replace an over-trouser in extreme conditions, it does provide greater weather protection when you need the performance of a softshell fabric with the waterproof capabilities of an over-trouser. They're exceptionally stretchy, comfortable and breathable, making them one of the most versatile sets of trousers in your kit cupboard.
