Speaking of storage, you're given a large main compartment with a wrap-around zip which gives you full access to your kit. Inside here you'll find two compression straps which can be used to secure the contents of the bag to avoid it all rolling about during transit. A large compartment attached to the inside of the lid houses another internal pocket which allows you to separate your dirty and clean/wet and dry clothes. Outside the bag, you have a handy quick-to-access pocket on the top of the Expanse, designed specifically to get you through airport security faster and easier. A zipped tablet sleeve houses an iPad or similarly sized device.
If you plan on using this little bag for a bit more than just carry-on luggage, the 'convertible' design allows you to unzip an exterior pocket, whip out two shoulder straps and a sternum strap and carry the bag in comfort. These shoulder straps are ventilated and are designed to wick away sweat in hot locations. The sternum strap also features a built-in whistle for emergency situations. If you don't fancy carrying the Expanse, some sturdy wheels and an extendable handle mean you can pull your kit along with ease.
One shining feature of this bag is Eagle Creek's central locking system. Each zip has the ability to lock to the other, while a reinforced hole in the top of the bag means you can thread the lock not only through the zip itself, but through the hole to fasten the zips securely at the top of the bag.
