What is the Pac Plus XT Jacket?This jacket punches well above its weight! The Pac Plus XT is a fully waterproof jacket that manages to be both lightweight and highly packable whilst maintaining most of the features you'd expect on a more "serious" jacket. It weighs slightly heavier than its famous cousin, the Pac Plus Jacket, but is well worth the extra weight. It's built to offer protection from the elements, both wind and rain. It is lightweight and packs down small in your backpack when it is not needed. Designed with more room for movement and extra ventilation, it is a great jacket when working hard climbing, scrambling and mountain walking.
What is the Pac Plus XT Jacket made from?Its incredible weight and pack size are predominantly down to the 40 Denier Gore-tex Paclite Plus Fabric, which is also 100% recycled and therefore a more environmentally friendly choice of jacket. Its two-layer construction not only offers excellent breathability but also the reliable durability of Gore-Tex in torrential downpours. The new abrasion resistant treatment of the inner surface ensures the jacket is longer lasting and offers more reliable protection. This same treatment makes this jacket easier to slip on and off and makes it more comfortable next to skin, even when wet!... Unlike previous generations of Paclite, that would stick to your skin and feel particularly clammy.
What are its features?The Pac Plus XT manages to hold onto many features despite its diminutive pack size and weight. For example, it features a fully adjustable helmet-compatible hood with a stiffened peak that offers an unimpeded field of view when you need it most.
The fully seam taped construction offers complete protection throughout the whole jacket; exceptionally handy in torrential downpours.
The articulated arms will give you the comfort you need whilst allowing freedom to move and reach high on a scramble or climb without the jacket rising and letting in rain or a cold breeze.
Two-way YKK AQUAGUARD pit zips for ventilation and allows you to dump unwanted heat when working hard. When empty, the two mesh-lined hand pockets act as extra vents, but they can still take a full OS map when you need them for storage. Adjustable pre-shaped cuffs and hem cinch drawcord can seal the weather out or open up for even more ventilation.
How does the Pac Plus XT Jacket fit?The Pac Plus XT features a slim, athletic fit, cutting down on bulk where it isn't needed. Because of this, it works best over a baselayer or lightweight mid-layer.
