What are the Lochan Pants?
Built for adventure, the Lochan Pants are super durable, robust outdoor trousers that provide excellent breathability and comfort to keep you feeling great all day long. Thanks to their tough Matrix™ softshell construction, these trousers have a slight stretch for improved freedom of movement, minimising restriction on steep ascents.
What are they made of?
A mixture of woven ripstop nylon and Matrix™ are used in the construction of the Lochan Pants.
Woven ripstop nylon is extremely durable, it has the ability to withstand abrasion from rough surfaces like rock, so you can wear these pants over and over again without a problem. High wear areas are reinforced with Matrix™ stretch double weave nylon for extra support and improved mobility in key areas. Rab especially chooses Matrix™ fabrics for their unique performance properties and quality, alongside their high (30+) rating of UV/UPF protection.
What are their features?
These pants have a jean style waistband with belt loops which feels comfortable and secure, giving you the option to add your belt if you like to have trousers a little more fitted around the waist. The fly features a classic button and zip fastening.
Two hand pockets and a zipped rear pocket provide plenty of room to stash away snacks and energy gels. Additionally, there's two thigh pockets for chunkier belongings that you don't want getting in your way and restricting movement. The thigh pockets are fastened with a zip, giving extra reassurance that valuables like keys, phones, or GPS devices are safely tucked in.
The Matrix™ reinforcement panels are strategically placed across high wear areas, including the seat, knees, thigh and instep, helping to maximise durability and prolong the lifespan of the trousers.
Knees are articulated to help improve freedom of movement by providing extra fabric around the joints, so you'll have space to move and extend on technical terrain and steep ascents. A gusset has also been added at the crotch, again to provide extra fabric and stretch in vital areas whilst relieving the seams between the legs - because nobody wants split trousers!
Each hem has a snap adjustment which allows the accommodation of different footwear like walking shoes, boots and chunky mountain boots.
How do they fit?
These trousers come in Rab's 'regular fit' block, which allows a little more room for better mobility, reduced restriction and layers underneath if required.
