What are the Prodigio Hike GTX?
They're lightweight, waterproof hiking shoes designed for fast-paced missions, whether fastpacking, hiking, or hill walking. The Prodigio Hike GTX Shoes feature Gore-Tex® waterproof technology for maximum weather protection, making them ideal for year-round use.
What are they made of?
The upper is constructed with High Tenacity Mesh, which comprises TPU and TPEE yarn. It's incredibly lightweight and exceptionally breathable, effectively regulating temperature for fast-paced, high-intensity adventures.
A Gore-Tex® ePE Extended Comfort lining provides complete waterproof protection without compromising airflow.
This updated, bluesign® approved Gore® material uses an ePE membrane, a key milestone in the leading brand's responsible performance journey. If you were wondering, ePE stands for expanded polyethene, which is light, thin, durable, and PFC-free.
If you're familiar with Trekitt descriptions, you may have seen that 'PFC/PFAS-free' phrase floating around before. PFCs/PFAS are known as 'forever chemicals' that stay permanently in the environment and cause lasting damage to our ecosystems. Many companies are working towards a completely PFC/PFAS-free future, so this is quite a breakthrough for the Gore-Tex® brand! In addition, this membrane has a reduced carbon footprint, as it uses laminates with a lower-mass membrane and select textiles, making it an ideal choice for more environmentally conscious adventurers.
An Ortholite® Hybrid 5mm footbed provides underfoot comfort and extra cushioning where needed most.
The CM EVA midsole combined with a FriXion® RED outsole provides ample support and stability with plenty of grip on varied terrain.
Both the upper mesh and lining mesh feature recycled content, alongside the laces, which are 100% recycled.
What are the features?
Rubber toe protection protects the foot from impact against rocks and roots, whilst rubber tail protection protects the heel area during more technical descents.
A high, knitted collar protects and stabilises the ankles and helps to keep the debris out when moving across scree, gravel, and loose terrain.
