Versatile design for approach and daily outdoor use. TX4's are a go-to shoe for outdoor enthusiasts. They provide exceptional underfoot support for approaches while being comfy enough to wear for daily errands and activities.
What are the TX4 Evo?
The TX4 Evo Shoes are ideal for technical approaches and easy climbs yet work well for everyday wear and outdoor lifestyles. They provide ample stability and grip for moving over rough or uneven terrain whilst offering the support needed to keep comfortable all day.
What are they made of?
Upper: The upper material is suede leather, which provides good flexibility and longevity to survive years of wear in harsh, rocky terrain. A protective rubber edge and toe cap support the upper and help to prevent the sides of your feet and toes from getting bashed against rocks.
Lining: A mesh lining offers good ventilation to help prevent sweat build-up and regulate temperature more effectively.
Footbed: An Ortholite® Hybrid Approach 4mm footbed provides underfoot comfort without costing the Earth - quite literally! It's made with recycled rubber, waste foam and open-cell foam, which cuts down on the use of petroleum and energy within the manufacturing process, alongside minimising the amount of waste that reaches landfills. Though more eco-friendly, the footbed doesn't compromise performance and still feels comfortable to wear in tougher terrain.
Midsole: The compression-moulded EVA midsole provides durability and reactivity underfoot.
Sole: These shoes come with Vibram® MegaGrip soles that offer unmatched grip on both dry and wet terrains. These soles are great for moving over longer distances, giving you extra confidence and control in changeable environments. They help to maintain an optimal balance between stability and flexibility, adapting to the ground well, which is ideal for more technical approaches throughout the year.
After years of use, if your boots are looking a little shabby, the Resole Platform™ allows you to get them resoled instead of buying a completely new pair.
What are their features?
An Impact Brake System™ is applied to the sole, designed to absorb more negative ground impact and improve grip, especially downhill. It features a unique lug pattern that encourages as many lugs as possible to touch the ground when you walk, giving any impact more room to spread and, therefore, absorbing more of the shock.
Regarding sustainability, the TX4s offer some benefits, including recycled tongue fabric, 100% recycled laces and hooks, mesh made with recycled materials, recycled rubber rands, the Ortholite® Hybrid footbed and a 7% recycled EVA midsole. Whilst not 100% recycled, these shoes are made to last, enhancing their sustainable message by eliminating the need to replace them after just a few years of use. As mentioned, you could get them resoled repeatedly to save the shoes from ending up in landfill, and some pennies in your pocket, too!
The climbing-inspired lacing system optimises the fit and allows for volume adjustments where necessary. Plus, a generous climbing zone at the toe guarantees precision and grip when climbing.

What’s the difference between TX4 GTX and Evo? The difference between the TX4 GTX and the TX4 Evo is primarily to do with the updated sole unit and the resoleable sole platform that is featured on the Evo version, but not on the regular TX4 GTX.
Are La Sportiva TX4 shoes good for hiking? The La Sportiva TX4 shoes are OK for hiking. They were originally made for approach, meaning they’ll be best suited shorter distances walking over hard terrain. Some people may find them too hard underfoot to conquer long distances whilst hiking, so this is worth considering before you purchase.
Are the La Sportiva TX4 Evo true to size? La Sportiva TX4 Evo shoes are generally true to size, with some arguing a half-size up is needed. We would recommend trying the shoes on before you purchase, which you can do in-store here at Trekitt.
