What are the Puez Knit PTX Shoes?
The Puez Knit PTX are versatile trekking shoes, ideal for crossing mixed mountain terrain, rocky paths or soft country fields. The shoes are designed to provide comfort, support and ventilation and feature a waterproof construction, allowing you to wear them comfortably all year round.
What are they made of?
Upper: These shoes feature a highly abrasion-resistant upper made with ripstop PE and knitted nylon 6,6. The upper is highly breathable yet incredibly robust to survive a beating in rugged terrain. It's also reinforced with a rubber rand for added longevity while protecting the sides of your feet and toes.
Lining: PowerTex lining inside the shoes provides reliable waterproof protection with good breathability to prevent sweat build-up. This waterproof membrane is PFC-free, avoiding those harmful 'forever chemicals' and helping to prevent further pollution to our precious environment.
Midsole: An Alpine Hemp Midsole feels soft underfoot yet is incredibly durable to help increase the overall longevity of the shoes, keeping them out of landfill for longer. Using hemp also has a lower impact on the environment than synthetic materials, as it uses less water to produce. Once grown, hemp plants breathe in CO2, which is excellent for helping to remove carbon from our ever-warming atmosphere. Hemp also regenerates soil and supports sustainable farming, as it grows quickly and doesn't need support from pesticides. What's not to love about hemp?!
Outsole: POMOCA Alpine Trekker outsoles are built for trekking over mixed terrain such as rocky mountain paths or soft mud. Though versatile, they still provide good grip and stability to keep you feeling confident no matter where you are.
Footbed: A recycled mesh CFF and recycled rubber and EVA volume reducer inside the shoe provide comfort and cushioning whilst accommodating different foot shapes and sizes, ensuring a precise fit to minimise aches, pains and rubbing when worn for extended periods.
Materials used in this product are PFC-free and socially monitored to contribute to a better Corporate Social Responsiblity practice. Any chemicals used to create these shoes are also verified for testing and safety.
What are their features?
Salewa has incorporated its '3F system' using strong Kevlar® cables to provide the most secure fit possible. The system ensures a blister-free, accurate experience by attaching a thin wire to two of the lacing hooks, which wraps around the heel of the boot.
A climbing lacing system extends down to the toes, allowing you to customise the tension and fit down the entire length of the shoe.
The anti-rock heel cup locks your foot in place to ensure torsional stability; this stability is amplified with the added heel stabiliser on the rear of the shoe.
Finally, an external toe cap provides extra protection for scrambles and light climbs, ensuring you won't kick or crush your toes against the rock.
