What is the Rotor Smock?

It's an extremely warm, highly packable, synthetically insulated pull-on jacket designed to provide static insulation when pit-stopping at lunch, reaching the summit, or setting up basecamp in cold climates. It combines a windproof outer and the fantastic PrimaLoft® Gold Cross Core insulation for reliable warmth, even in wet environments.

What is it made from?

The Rotor Smock uses a combination of a durable windproof face fabric and cosy PrimaLoft® Gold Cross Core insulation for a fantastic warmth-to-weight ratio with a minimal pack size.

Insulation: OMM has filled the Rotor Smock with 40g PrimaLoft® Gold with Cross Core throughout the body, with Primaloft® Luxe loose fill used through the collar.

Primaloft® Gold with Crosscore is the highest quality synthetic insulation available. It's the Gold standard of Primaloft™ insulation, providing the ultimate level of warmth compared to other fibres. The technically advanced fibres are infused with Aerogel technology, which is used by NASA and acclaimed for its ultra-lightweight yet ultra-insulative properties. This fantastic insulation is the same that OMM use in their mountain-ready sleeping bags, as it offers maximum warmth even when wet and gives an incredible warmth-to-weight ratio. Primaloft® Luxe is designed to mimic the look and feel of natural down with all the benefits and none of the drawbacks, making it a cosy and functional choice for the Rotor Smock's collar.

Fabrics: OMM has used its own Point Zero® fabric, an incredibly lightweight and ultra-packable ripstop material made from 100% nylon. Point Zero® is fully windproof without compromising breathability and exceptionally durable for its weight, making it the ideal protective companion to the jacket's premium insulation.

The jacket is finished with a DWR (durable water repellent) treatment for light protection from rain and snow, encouraging it to bead off the surface rather than soaking in, but please note that this does not make the jacket waterproof.

What are its features?

The Rotor Smock has a concise feature set to keep weight and pack size to a minimum. It features a stand collar to help retain heat and protect the back of the neck from cold drafts, a cord hem and Velcro tabbed cuffs to seal out the elements. Whilst a half-length front zip with a draft flap allows easy ventilation whilst on the move.

A zipped-through kangaroo pocket provides space to store cold hands and a map. The pockets also doubles as a stuff sack allowing the jacket to pack into its own pocket for compact storage or a minimalist pillow for the night.
