What is the Featherlite Smock?The Featherlite Smock is a brilliant weather-resistant emergency layer for moving fast in the outdoors. What is the Featherlite Smock made from?The Featherlite is made from Pertex Quantum ECO fabric. Pertex has become the benchmark for performance fabrics in all quality outdoor gear and this Quantum ECO version is lightweight, windproof, water-resistant and breathable. It’s also made from 100% recycled Nylon, so it’s environmentally friendly! The Featherlite Smock is then coated with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating to keep the wind and light rain out. It’s fast-drying and is exceptionally comfortable even if you get wet.
What are the features?The Featherlite smock lives up to its name, weighing 110g (Size M) - it's easy to forget you are wearing it! It stuffs away into its chest pocket, taking up minimal space in your pack. It is a great emergency layer that can be packed away until you need it! The Featherlite Smock is windproof while still enabling you to regulate your body heat. The low profile cuffs ensure full wrist coverage, whilst the close fit collar offers protection from the elements in the neck. There is also an adjustable hem with a cinchable drawcord - that, teamed with the 1/3 length YKK front zip allows you to regulate your body temperature with ease! And finally, for storage, the Featherlite has 1 zipped chest pocket that is big enough to fit your phone, gloves and energy bar! This chest pocket also doubles up as it's own storage bag, so you can stash the jacket in your pack and take it out when you need it most!
How does it fit?The Featherlite fits into Montane’s ‘Active Mountain Fit’ which gives a closer fit in the jacket and ensures it retains heat and flaps around less in high winds. This product still has some room underneath for extra layers and can be used in combination with a close-fitting mid-layer.
