What is the Phantom Jacket?
It's an ultra-lightweight and minimal waterproof shell jacket designed for moving fast in the mountains when the weather's not playing ball. Weighing a little over 100 g, it's exceptionally packable and the perfect protective layer to keep stashed in your running vest in case of an unexpected downpour.
What is it made from?
The Phantom Jacket uses an ultralight 7D 2.5 layer Pertex® Shield construction for highly breathable waterproof protection when you're moving fast in the mountains. This 2.5-layer material is constructed from an ultralight 7D face fabric made from recycled polyamide and a thin, waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane with a smooth backer for next-to-skin comfort. The face fabric is finished with a PFC-Free DWR (durable water repellent) coating to encourage rain to bead off the jacket instead of soaking in, without the use of harmful forever chemicals.
Pertex® Shield delivers a hydrostatic head rating of 20,000mm and a breathability MVTR score of 20,000 g/m2/24hrs, meaning it offers excellent waterproof protection and breathability – perfect for fast-paced mountain missions when the weather's not playing ball.
What are its features?
The Phantom Jacket has a concise feature set to keep weight and bulk to a minimum, allowing this jacket to be ultra-packable and weigh a mere 117 grams. A close-fitting hood provides vital protection from the elements and can be rolled away to provide wind protection to the back of the neck in dry, exposed conditions. The hood features a rear vent to prevent it from billowing or distracting you in high winds.
A YKK front zip with an internal zip guard helps prevent wind and rain from entering the jacket via the zip. The sleeves are pre-curved at the elbows to allow for natural, unrestricted movement whilst running. The part elasticated bottom hem helps seal out the elements and prevent it from riding up whilst moving fast. The jacket is finished with reflective branding for added visibility to other road users in low light.
