What is the Active Skin 8?
The Active Skin 8 is a lightweight women's running vest for fast-paced adventures. It allows you to take everything you need without hindering movement and performance, making it perfect for trail running, ultrarunning, fast-hiking and generally any fast-paced, done-in-a-day pursuit.
What is it made of?
This running vest comprises nylon, polyester and elastane to create something lightweight, moisture wicking and breathable yet incredibly durable to survive in rugged terrain and withstand regular use. The elastane offers a good stretch, making it comfortable to wear and offering the flexibility you need for more technical adventures.
Which carry system does it use?
A 3D comfort backsystem provides support where needed most.
3D Airmesh shoulder straps incorporate small cavities into their construction to increase airflow, providing effective ventilation around contact points and helping to decrease sweat build-up.
What are its features?
Women's specific Sensifit™ technology utilises the stretchy material to optimise the fit and stability of the vest, which is then enhanced with lightweight adjustments. It's adapted to fit the female frame more accurately and has double-stretch straps across the chest. Trust me; it feels much comfier to wear with sports bras than standard chest straps!
A sternum strap enables you to adjust the vest on the fly to minimise faff and stop time. Elasticated panels also make it easier to breathe when you pick up the pace or start working up a steep incline.
For hydration, the Active Skin 8 comes with two women's 500ml soft flasks that fit into the two flask pockets on the front, so you won't have to worry about investing in alternative bottles! How can a soft flask be women's specific, you ask? Good question! These soft flasks have a triangular construction that (when stored on the vest) sits under the chest to avoid pressure and discomfort.
Suppose you'd prefer to hook up a larger bladder for more extended missions, humid conditions or intense activities. In that case, the internal bladder compartment (up to 1.5L capacity) and hanging strap will hold it in place securely, and the sewn-in exit port for a tube allows you to drink on the go easily.
The main back compartment with a large zipped opening holds bulkier essentials like an extra shell layer, gloves or a hat.
Two front stretch pockets are ideal for storing energy gels, trail snacks or a small guidebook. There's an additional front zipped pocket, elastic gear carrier and even a key holder, which does exactly what it says on the tin (so to speak) - it holds your keys!
Finally, additional loops accommodate walking poles and allow you to store them properly, ensuring they don't get in your way as you move.
