The Snowline by Mountain equipment lands in their "extreme" range, for an understandable reason. Designed to have the smallest pack size and weight without compromising on warmth, the Snowline features some of the highest quality 850+ fill power Eastern European goose down to provide the ultimate warmth to weight radio which synthetic insulation can't replicate. A highly breathable and water resistant Drilite shelll fabric encompasses all this down and provides a barrier against the elements while in harsh environments.
M.E have used their geeky-ness to offer us what they call ground level seams. These maximise the thermal efficiency of the sleeping bag by allowing a single top layer to wrap fully around the body. In extreme conditions, with a structurally sound side-wall fewer cold spots can develop. Furthermore by altering the ratio of where the down is held inside the bag, greater control of temperature regulation can be achieved. On top of the ground level seams, their Trapezoid construction further increases the thermal efficiency and down loft while still minimising cold spots by using steeply angled side walls and a greater seam overlap. Onto the hood, their "DC8" design relates to the number of zoned baffles (8) and offers unrivalled insulation in extreme conditions.
Lastly, the Snowline takes on Mountain Equipments "mountain fit". The foundation stone of all their fit blocks, this semi-tapered mummy profile combines excellent thermal efficiency and comfort for all-round mountain use.
For a highly packable, water resistant and super warm bag designed for the worst conditions while taking on the hardest climbs, the Snowline is a go-to choice for the uncompromising alpinist.
