What is the Wickiup 5 Tent?
The Wickiup 5 is a tipi tent with a special little secret...its pole is not in the middle like a traditional tipi. Instead, it has been designed with a unique asymmetric shape, providing more room in the sleeping cabin and a generous vestibule for relaxing with the family or taking shelter on wet and windy days.
Like its smaller brothers, the Wickiup tent is durable, well-ventilated, and an excellent choice for comfortable family camping trips. This tent is technically classed as a four season tent, but it is best suited for family use from spring to autumn.
What is it made of?
Flysheet: The flysheet is made from a highly durable and waterproof Gorlyn 20D high tenacity ripstop 6.6 Nylon, which is silicone coated on both sides for higher tensile strength and added protection against UV damage.
Inner: The tent inner is made from 15D air-permeable ripstop Nylon, with a lightweight knitted mesh door to maximise airflow, breathability and helps keep even the smallest insects out.
Floor: The tent floor is made from 40D ripstop Nylon and fire-retardant TPU laminate with taped seams. This sturdy tent base has a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm.
Pole: The single pole is made from 22mm anodised 6061 aluminium for a lightweight and durable design, providing a stable frame for the Wickiup Tent.
What are its features?
Entry: This tent features a single entry, with smooth-running dual zippers for quick and easy access in and out. The door has a well-placed tie-back, maximising the space and creating an entrance that is 170cm wide, a welcome feature when camping with young children. The door zip also features a double storm flap to protect the zip from wind-blown rain. A large vestibule provides plenty of room for your family or friends to relax, change and take shelter in adverse weather conditions.
Space: The unique asymmetric shape of this tent creates a sizeable sleeping cabin, with enough space for a family of five to sleep comfortably or four adults with a little extra room.
Ventilation: This tent offers excellent ventilation due to its high internal height and breathable mesh inner tent door. Three hooded peak vents at the top provide a chimney-like effect to draw more airflow up the inside of the flysheet to help reduce condensation.
Guys, Attachments & Pegs: This tent is secured with 22 Y-shape twisted 16cm pegs. They are brightly coloured and have reflective pull cords making them easy to use, a welcome feature when pitching your tent at night. Made from strong and lightweight 7001 aluminium, they are best suited for firm soil in camping grounds, forests and mountainous areas.
The single pole is made from anodised 6061 aluminium for lightweight but highly durable and weather-resistant construction.
Additional extras: Add extra protection with the Bach Wickiup 5 Footprint, available to purchase separately. It adds 1140g of weight to the kit and protects the tent's floor from rocks, sharp items, mud and water, extending the life of your tent.
