What is the Mezzalama Polartec Alpha Jacket?
It's a technical jacket made with insulative Polartec® Alpha fleece and durable polyamide, designed to keep you warm and comfortable during intense activity in challenging conditions. The Mezzalama is perfect for mountaineering, skiing, snowboarding and ice climbing, yet even suitable for casual winter activities closer to home.
What is it made of?
The outer material is made of polyamide for added strength and durability without adding too much weight and bulk. It's wind and water resistant and gives the jacket a smooth, soft finish that feels and looks fantastic.
A clue in the name, the Mezzalama Polartec® Alpha is insulated with Polartec® Alpha fleece, which is soft, lightweight and breathable.
Polartec® Alpha was originally invented for the US special forces, so you know it will perform! It's engineered with air exchange technology to provide consistent warmth and exceptional breathability to regulate body temperature. The fabric is lightweight, durable and compressible, allowing you to pack it in a pack or kit bag without taking up excessive space.
What are its features?
This jacket has a tight-fitting hood that improves heat retention and helps to keep the weather out.
Stretch inserts provide maximum freedom of movement for climbing or using ski poles, allowing you to perform your best every time. These inserts also make the jacket comfy enough for more casual wear, whether running errands around town, chilling at home or heading down the pub during colder months.
Hems and cuffs are elasticated, helping draw in the jacket without feeling restrictive and allowing it to move when you need it. Thumb holes on the end of each sleeve help to keep the sleeve in place and prevent it from rolling up the arm whilst giving the hands more coverage.
Zipped front pockets are ideal for snacks and energy gels to keep you fuelled throughout your mission, whilst a designated smartphone pocket reassures you that your phone won't slip out any time.
The jacket is finished with branded detailing and reflectors for additional visibility if you're out after hours, perfect for those short winter days.
