What is the R1® Air Full-Zip Hoodie?
The updated R1® Air Full-Zip Hoodie is a lightweight fleece hoodie designed with technical materials. It's the ideal layer for cool conditions and virtually any activity, whether exploring the city, chilling at home, dog walking, hiking, etc.
What is it made of?
This hoodie is made of bluesign® approved, 100% recycled polyester jacquard fleece with hollow-core yarns. It wicks moisture, dries fast, and is highly breathable, making it ideal for cool-weather errands and higher-output activities during winter.
bluesign® approval means this material is manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
This product is also made in a Fair Trade Factory™, giving Patagonia more control of the operations in the factories they choose to work with. Patagonia proudly offers more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand in the current market. But how does it work? Patagonia pays a premium for every item made in one of these factories, and this money goes directly to the factory workers. A democratically elected committee of Fair Trade workers will decide how this extra money gets spent in each Fair Trade factory. The program also promotes worker health, safety, and social and environmental compliance while encouraging healthier dialogue between workers and management.
What are the features?
The zigzag knit pattern of the fleece increases airflow and minimises bulk to enhance breathability and packability, whilst offering ample warmth and temperature regulation.
A slim fit hugs the body closely, making it easy to layer jackets or climbing harnesses over it. The hood also fits slim, meaning you can easily wear a helmet or another hood over it.
The full-length zip at the front allows for easy on and off and provides ventilation when needed. Off-shoulder seams sit comfortably under pack straps to help reduce the risk of chafing and rubbing on long-distance missions.
For storage, there is one zipped left-chest pocket for small items such as keys or trail snacks, and two front pockets with minimal zips for reduced bulk. Lastly, the quick-drying woven binding at the back hem and cuffs helps improve the fit and durability of the fleece.
