What is the Frontier Vest?
The Mountain Equipment Frontier Vest is a softshell vest that's hugely versatile, offering lightweight protection to your body's core without increasing bulk or restricting movement. It's the ideal vest for various activities including climbing or multi-day alpine trekking.
What is it made of?
This vest uses a double weave Exolite 210 material with built-in stretch for optimum comfort and freedom of movement. Exolite fabric performs superbly by blocking out the worst of the wind, repelling the majority of the rain (although sadly, not all) and breathing like a string vest! It comprises a soft wicking next-to-the-body layer with a tough, weather resistant outer layer, making it versatile enough for mountain sports or even everyday activities a little nearer to home.
What are its features?
Made with a trim, Active cut, the Frontier vest is perfect to layer up over a base layer to keep the chill at bay on exposed rock routes. Alternatively, slip it on over your midlayer for added protection from the elements.
The Frontier features three zipped pockets, including a Napoleon chest pocket and two zipped hand pockets, perfect for stashing energy gels, hill snacks, a mobile phone or earbuds.
It has a front fastening with a moulded YKK® zip and dual tether hem drawcords to adapt the fit around the bottom.
The construction is overlocked and top-stitched for maximum durability around the seams, with less bulk and better comfort next to the skin.
