What are the T3 Light Hiker Short Eco Socks?
These are lightweight technical socks built to endure long days on the trails. They're ideal for hiking, trekking, or even plodding around town when the weather is warmer, and they offer breathable, moisture wicking performance to help prevent sweat building up.
What are they made of?
There's a clue in the name! The T3 Light Hiker Short Eco Socks are made with a sustainable mixture of yarns, including Red-cycled Nylon, COOLMAX® EcoMade and Tencel®.
Red-cycled nylon uses 100% recovered nylon (Econyl - made from recycled fishing nets), helping to minimise waste that may otherwise end up in landfill or get stuck in the bottom of our oceans. It's extremely strong and durable, and helps to improve the longevity of the socks whilst keeping them in place, preventing them from slipping down your feet.
COOLMAX® EcoMade is a lycra polyester fibre. These fibres efficiently wick away moisture (like sweat) from the skin, thanks to their ribbed internal construction, and are made from 97% recycled materials, such as plastic bottles.
Tencel® feels soft and cosy next to the skin. Tencel® is a fully biodegradable fibre, made from sustainably farmed trees and Eucalyptus plants on certified sustainable plantations. The materials nano-structure provides exceptional moisture wicking to enhance temperature regulation in warmer climates.

They have a shorter length and are ideal for generally any season, although we wouldn't recommend wearing them in freezing, wintry conditions. Light cushioning is added in the toe and heel to improve the feel without adding too much weight or bulk.
The built-in exclusive T3 technology uses three separate layers to suit different conditions and intense activities to enhance breathability and maximise performance.
SLS (Selective Layering System) technology uses a hydrophobic layer thread against the skin to expel the sweat and moisture, with a hydrophilic thread in the midsection and a stronger layer thread in areas that are more exposed to friction, helping decrease the rate of natural wear and tear.
These socks are super versatile, you can wear them with lightweight sport shoes or walking boots comfortably, and they'll give you plenty of freedom of movement and support for done-in-a-day adventures.
