What are the Essent High-Rise Leggings?
These are women's leggings with a high-rise fit to provide the ultimate comfort and coverage when climbing or tackling challenging terrain and tricky scrambles. They have a minimal, versatile style, so they could also be worn casually around the house, to run errands or for a session at the gym.
What are they made of?
Arc'teryx has constructed these leggings using durable nylon knit to withstand wear and abrasion against rough surfaces and rock. With a 29% elastane content, elasticity and stretch are improved, providing extra support and mobility for more dynamic movement across technical terrain and steep inclines.
The materials used for the Essent High-Rise are Bluesign® approved. Bluesign® helps eliminate harmful substances often used in each step of manufacturing and production, making these leggings a much more sustainable option than others on the market.
What are their features?
The Essent High-Rise Leggings have a high waistband for extra coverage to keep you feeling comfortable and confident throughout your mountain adventures. The waistband has a moisture wicking mesh lining for improved breathability when working up a sweat or exploring in hot weather.
Moisture wicking fabrics quickly wick sweat away from the skin by moving it to the outer surface. They help prevent that damp, claggy feeling of material sticking to the skin - a common problem if you're venturing outdoors in heavy cotton clothing, as cotton will collect the moisture instead of getting rid of it. These fabrics also help regulate temperature as vapour doesn't build and turn cold on the skin.
Two pockets allow you to stow away small essentials such as keys, a phone, snacks or energy gels to keep you going throughout your trip. The pockets are placed strategically so that they will not be obstructed when wearing a climbing harness, so you can still grab a snack if you're feeling peckish halfway up an ascent!
How do they fit?
These leggings fit tight, so they are close to the skin, enhancing their moisture wicking properties whilst reducing the risk of catching and tearing on rocks or rough surfaces.
