What are the Obtuse Pants?
These trousers are built explicitly for women as lightweight, low bulk trousers, ideal for less intense activities and calmer terrain, such as indoor climbing or hill-walking on a summer weekend.
What are they made from?
The Rab Obtuse Pants are constructed with a combination of Matrix™ single weave stretch nylon and Flexile™ 200, offering an almost weightless, stretchy feel to enhance movement and breathability, they're so light you just might forget you're wearing them. These trousers are finished with a fluorocarbon-free water repellent coating that provides some protection from rain showers, making them a practical addition to your wardrobe.
What are their features?
The deep stretch waistband allows maximum coverage whilst being manoeuvrable and flexible. This waistband style also helps to enhance comfort when worn with a harness, particularly when climbing indoors. The overall stretch fabric allows excellent freedom of movement for summer hikes, chilling at home or even doing some morning yoga.
The low bulk design of the Obtuse Pants doesn't skimp on functional features, starting with the two open hand pockets with sewn-in darts. The darts maximise the pockets' capacity whilst preventing them from gaping open and spilling your belongings out onto the floor.
Two additional pockets sit on the back, one open pocket and the other featuring a zip closure, best for more valuable items like your phone or key. All the pockets on this design are intentionally constructed to be flush with the pants, helping avoid catches or tears in the material. The overall measurements are specific to women for enhanced shape and fit.
A long length gusset at the crotch enables increased mobility and durability by allowing extra stretch and taking stress off vital seams, helping to prevent any embarrassing trouser splitting incidents! Articulated knees allow ease of movement and help improve comfort when bending and stretching. The elasticated hem cuffs help keep the trousers in place and allow excellent mobility around the calves and ankles.
For avid climbers, you'll find the brush retaining shock cord comes in super handy, to stop you from dropping your brush when you're halfway up the wall. Simply clip the brush to the cord, and away you go!
How do they fit?
These trousers are a slim fit, creating a flattering shape whilst helping prevent gaping from excess fabric, which could cause issues getting stuck or tangled when climbing.
