What is the Katam Jacket?
It's a highly breathable waterproof jacket designed for fast-paced activities such as mountain and trail running, ultralight backpacking and fastpacking. The Katam is ideal for adventurers counting every gram of kit, and it even makes the perfect emergency piece to keep in your backpack when the weather's unpredictable.
What is it made of?
The Katam Jacket is made with recycled, 2.5-layer Drilite® fabric, which comprises 100% recycled nylon. Drilite® fabric, which is M.E's proprietary waterproof fabric. No Gore-Tex®? No problem! Drilite® fabric features a hydrophilic polyurethane membrane that provides the ultimate wet weather protection whilst remaining lightweight, breathable and flexible. It also features an FC-free DWR, which encourages water to bead off the fabric, enhancing weather resistance whilst amplifying breathability. Drilite® combines years' worth of knowledge and experience, gathered by Mountain Equipment, to provide optimum performance for mountain use.
Materials used to create this product are Fair Wear approved. Fair Wear is a non-profit organisation that promotes fair labour conditions for factory workers worldwide. It works directly with M.E factories to ensure ethical conditions for employees and keeps track of the progress these factories are making to maintain Fair Wear standards.
What are its features?
This jacket features an elasticated mountain hood with a small peak and rear adjuster, allowing you to cinch in the material and optimise the fit. This hood rolls away into the jacket, meaning you don't have to suffer it flapping around your ears in the wind when you're not wearing it.
It's constructed with an Active Fit that sits closer to the body for enhanced performance and articulated, pre-shaped sleeves for improved freedom of movement.
A water-resistant centre-front zip helps to prevent rain from seeping through the fastening whilst providing an extra ventilation option and easy access in/out of the jacket.
The Napoleon chest pocket is ideal for storing snacks and energy gels for covering longer distances. Adjustable cuffs and hem drawcords allow you to cinch any dead space away, keeping the heat in and allowing your body to regulate its temperature more effectively.
