Brand new in for this season and weighing in at only 320g, the Ryze is one of our lightest synthetically insulated jackets; but don't let its weight fool you, this jacket is one of the most breathable synthetically insulated jackets we have, whilst simultaneously keeping you super snuggly. It beautifully balances warmth, weight and air permeability to give you a mid layer that effectively regulates your temperature when you're working hard, whilst also adding a layer of weather resistance for everything from the dry days to the changeable weather days.
The synthetic insulation that keeps you so warm is Octa Loft. Octa Loft is created out of hollow polyester yarns that loft well and trap warm air, which makes it incredibly warm for its weight. It is also incredibly breathable and wicks moisture away from your body when you're working hard.
The material that protects the insulation is Fortius Air 2.0 which is a 20 denier nylon/elastane blend that offers both excellent abrasion resistance, light wind resistance and reliable breathability, whilst the DWR treatment helps to further shield you from the elements.
The jacket features two medium volume zippered hand pockets that are positioned higher to avoid bits getting in the way of harnesses and hipbelts, stretchy wrist-cuffs that help seal out cold drafts and a low profile, adjustable hood that sit perfectly under a helmet (and snug to your head even when you don't have a helmet on).
This jacket has been aimed at those among us who favour the snow-filled adventures, but it is obvious to all of us here that this jacket is capable of so much more. This is an absolute must-have for everyone's kit-pool.
