What is the Super Couloir?
The Super Couloir is a fully waterproof, ultra-dexterous glove made using a mixture of softshell and goatskin leather. They're perfect for cold weather climbing and mountaineering.
What are they made of?
Starting from the outside, the back of the hand is made using M.E's own Exolite 210 softshell fabric. This is a stretchy, breathable, weather-resistant fabric used throughout their range of clothing and equipment. To increase durability, the palm and thumb use Pittards Armortan Goatskin leather — this is far more resistant to abrasion and will increase dexterity when using tools/ropes.
Behind this, a Gore-Tex membrane provides total waterproof protection. Finally, the inner back of the hand features a fibre pile lining to add valuable warmth in sub-zero temperatures. The inner palm uses a thinner, but still fairly warm, microfleece to maintain dexterity.
What are their features?
A gauntlet design adds further protection and can be sealed via a drawcord for total weather sealing. Mountain Equipment include wrist tethers to keep the gloves safe, but these can be removed if you're feeling brave. Lastly, there are a couple of handy loops on the fingers to clip to a carabiner when not in use.
