What is the Xenon 2.0 Jacket?
The Xenon 2.0 is the updated version of the well-loved Xenon – this season it has had a massive update and now features recycled insulation and fabrics! It is versatile, packable and reliable and is a perfect addition to any outdoor adventure kit list
What is it made of?
Insulation: The insulation in the Xenon is the exceptionally environmentally friendly PrimaLoft Silver synthetic insulation which contains 100% post-consumer recycled material. This insulation is lightweight, incredibly soft and will still keep you warm even if it gets wet – So not only do you get a jacket that performs well in changeable conditions, but its does so with exceptional environmental credentials.
The Xenon Jacket uses body-mapped insulation to maintain warmth whilst allowing for optimal breathability and packability – giving you the ideal piece for moving fast in the mountains. The Xenon features a quilted sheet insulation over torso for increased breathability and an unperforated sheet insulation over shoulders & arms for increased protection.
Fabrics: The outer fabric in the Xenon is a lightweight, breathable 30D Pertex Quantum ripstop fabric that has exceptional breathability and weather resistance; meaning you won’t have to chop and change layers when you start to work harder. The lining on the inside is a 30D recycled Atmos ripstop which helps wick moisture away from your body and is exceptionally soft next to skin.
What are the features?
Starting at the top, the Xenon features an under helmet hood with a semi-elasticated opening. The 2-way YKK Vislon has a chin guard and an insulated zip baffle behind the zip to help stop the heat from leaving the jacket. Moving down the YKK concealed zipped hand pockets are the ideal place to stash your phone, compass and keys. For added storage you also get a concealed zip pocket in the chest which doubles as a stuff sack so you can pop it in your pack when you don’t need it.
How does it fit?
The Xenon uses Rab’s Regular fit which means that it is tailer to sit close to your body so you don’t have lots of excess fabric flapping around in bad weather, but also has enough room underneath it so you can pop a couple of layers on when it gets extra chilly.
Where does it fit in the layering system?
The Xenon can be worn as a stand alone jacket on those cold, dry days but will also squeeze underneath a shell jacket when it starts to rain.
