What is the XT 15?With the capacity of a hiking pack but the fit and stability of a running pack, the XT 15 is an ultra-versatile option for those who dabble in a little bit of everything.
What is it made of?The main body is made from a super-tough yet lightweight nylon, while the contact points and lining are made from a softer polyester. Both of these fabrics are designed to take some abuse and will resist light moisture if you get caught out.
Which backsystem does it use?The backsystem on the XT 15 has been taken from Salomon's range of running packs and sits higher than your average hiking pack. Most of the weight is displaced through the wide, comfortable shoulder straps and the waistbelt simply keeps the pack still. The backpanel and shoulder straps are both lined with a mixture of foam and mesh, ensuring the pack is as comfortable as it is functional. The waistbelt has plenty of adjustment to suit a wide range of shapes and sizes.
What are its features?Storage-wise, you've got two zipped waistbelt pockets, one top external zipped pocket, an internal bladder sleeve and one large main compartment. Additional storage is provided by a bungee system on the outer of the pack; this is the ideal place to pop your wet waterproofs when the rain stops.
Other useful features include reflective details so you're easily visible on the trail, walking/running pole holders, an adjustable sternum strap, a whistle and a handy clip for your keys.
