What is the Yet 1500X?The Yeti is undoubtedly the king of portable power. Now, obviously this isn't your standard battery pack that you'd stick in your pocket and take to your local coffee shop, but if you're looking to spend days, weeks or even months off the grid, the Yeti is one of the most advanced and capable options available. To put it into perspective, this behemoth of a battery will charge your phone over 120 times with power to spare.
How do you charge it?It can be charged in a variety of different ways — either plug it into the wall at home and it'll fully charge in around 14 hours, from the sun using one of Goal Zero's solar panels which will take between 18-36 hours using their Boulder 100 panel or via a 12V adapter in your car while driving.
What are its features?Whether you've got an iPhone, Android, Mac or PC, there are more than enough ports to suit just about every device. You've got fast-charging USB-C ports, standard USB-A ports, a regulated 12V port and two 120V AC ports. A wide range of inputs and outputs means the Yeti is also a great backup battery if you live in an area with frequent power outages. For example, the Yeti will power the average fridge for 28 hours, a TV for 15 hours or a standard lightbulb for 138 hours.
Goal Zero produces an app which allows you to optimise your power usage from anywhere. You can remotely control the amount of power going in and out of the Yeti and will receive notifications about your consumption to ensure you're never left without power. If you do begin to run a little low, the app gives you the option to change charging profiles to extend the battery life.
