What are the Leki Ultratrail FX.One Poles?
The Ultratrail FX.One are the result of collaboration with world-class trail runners, engineered for minimal weight, maximum efficiency, and uncompromising speed. With a fixed-length design (110–135 cm, in 5 cm increments) and a super-slim 14 mm shaft, they're optimised for high-level competition where every gram matters. At just 167g per pole (120 cm), they are one of the lightest poles ever developed by Leki. Whether racing ultras, mountain marathons, or technical trail events, the Ultratrail FX.One gives a lightweight, reliable edge.
What are they made of?
Superlight Carbon Shaft (HRC max)
Constructed from high-end HRC max carbon fibre, the shaft is explicitly developed for competition. With a slim 14 mm diameter, it delivers outstanding stiffness at an exceptionally low weight, reducing swing effort and allowing efficient use over ultra-long distances. This carbon layup was designed in collaboration with top athletes to ensure optimal performance in elite racing environments.
Clear Finish
The pole features a clear-coated carbon finish that not only highlights the natural weave of the carbon fibre for a sleek, minimalist look but also adds a protective layer against scratches, abrasions, and everyday wear. This finish preserves the pole’s performance and aesthetics over time, ensuring it maintains both its strength and modern, understated style even after repeated use on demanding terrain.
Trail Trigger Shark Grip
The Trail Trigger Shark is the first grip-strap system developed 100% for trail running. Designed for seamless efficiency, it allows runners to click in and out of the pole quickly using a push-button mechanism. The ergonomic cork grip provides a natural feel in the hand while staying lightweight, and the extended lower grip zone allows for fast position changes without adjusting the length — ideal for technical climbs or fast terrain transitions.
Shark Frame Strap Mesh
Paired with the grip is the Shark Frame Strap Mesh, a lightweight, breathable strap designed for trail runners. It's available in S–M–L (110–115 cm poles) or M–L–XL (120–135 cm poles) to ensure a perfect fit. The strap system provides secure power transfer with minimal bulk, reducing the need to grip tightly and conserving energy during long races.
Trail Running Carbide Tips
Carbide tips remain sharp over time, delivering long-lasting reliability. They ensure precise planting and a consistent grip on mixed terrain, from rocky paths to forest tracks.
What are their features?
FX Folding Construction
The four-section folding design collapses the poles to a compact 37 cm pack size, perfect for stowing in a running vest or belt during flat sections of trail. The push-button release allows for quick deployment or folding in seconds, essential during competition.
Fixed Length Design
The Ultratrail FX.One is available in fixed lengths between 110–135 cm (in 5 cm increments). Eliminating adjustability reduces weight and ensures maximum stiffness — critical in competitive environments where speed and efficiency matter most.
