What are the Zodiac TRK GTX?
They're waterproof trekking boots built with reliable Gore-Tex® technology, ensuring complete protection wherever you go. Best suited to multi-day hiking missions and long-distance trekking, they offer optimum comfort and support and are made with long-lasting materials to enhance durability.
What are they made of?
The upper combines water-resistant suede and textile, which feels supple, protective, and sturdy in tricky terrain. However, don't be fooled—it's also incredibly comfortable and will last years of abuse on the trails.
A Gore-Tex® ePE More Seasons bluesign® approved lining provides ample waterproof protection with incredible levels of breathability.
bluesign® approval means it's manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
But what is Gore-Tex® ePE, you ask?
This updated Gore® material uses an ePE membrane, a key milestone in the leading brand's responsible performance journey. If you were wondering, ePE stands for expanded polyethene, which is light, thin yet durable, and PFC-free. If you're familiar with Trekitt descriptions, you may have seen that 'PFC-free' phrase floating around before. PFCs are per or poly-fluorinated chemicals, aka 'forever chemicals' that stay permanently in the environment and cause lasting damage to our ecosystems. Many companies are working towards a completely PFC-free future, so this is quite a breakthrough for the Gore-Tex® brand! In addition, this membrane has a reduced carbon footprint, as it uses laminates with a lower-mass membrane and select textiles, making it an ideal choice for more environmentally conscious adventurers.
An ABS Precision sole adapts to the terrain to provide maximum performance wherever you are, no matter the conditions, making the Zodiac TRK GTX a reliable, versatile boot for year-round use.
What are the features?
Patented Bascula Adaptive System technology features softer concentric areas on the toe and heel, which adapt to the ground, guaranteeing traction and stability and allowing you to feel more confident with each step.
Built-in heel control facilitates progression on steep and sloping terrain, perfect for hiking and mountain scrambling.
The autofit collar secures and supports the ankle as you move, aiding navigation over tricky and uneven terrain.
If your boots look worn after years of adventures, you can easily resole them to give them a new lease of life and help prevent valuable materials from going to landfill.
Built-in ActivFit technology uses specific shoe shaping to guarantee absolute comfort and deliver maximum performance by hugging the foot and ankle comfortably when the foot naturally rocks on and off the ground. Plus, the SockFit XT construction system offers a fit that is as snug and hugging as a sock. This system uses one piece of fabric to construct the tongue and the Flex Point without hindering breathability, waterproofness and general resistance.
Overall, the Zodiac TRK GTX Boots balance weight and protection while offering ample technicality and comfort for day-long or multi-day adventures.
