What are the Kento Advanced High GTX?
They're Gore-Tex® waterproof mountain boots designed for rugged environments and technical activities that require plenty of comfort, support and precision. These boots are ideal for mountain guides who are often adventuring in tough terrain, mountain touring, hiking and via ferrata.
What are they made of?
The upper comprises terracare® Nubuck leather, made in Germany. terracare® dedicates itself to sourcing sustainable leather using ecological tanning methods. It results in 40% lower water and chemical consumption and 30% less C02 emissions than the industry average. The tannery produces all the renewable energy it consumes, and unavoidable C02 emissions are made up for through international reforestation schemes that terracare® gets involved in.
A Gore-Tex® Performance Comfort lining uses a four-layer laminate construction to provide reliable waterproof protection without compromising breathability. It's abrasion resistant, versatile and highly adaptable to changing conditions - perfect for unpredictable mountain terrain. The lining allows sweat vapour to move to the outside to keep your feet feeling fresh and dry in intense or humid climates, so you can comfortably wear these boots all year round.
What are their features?
A pre-shaped tongue feels more comfortable to wear for extended periods and sits closer to the foot to give you more support by helping to hold the foot in place.
Individual two-zone lacing allows you to adjust according to your foot shape, size, and activity. It helps to draw in the boot around the foot, making it feel much more stable and secure and giving you confidence on uneven ground.
A durable raised rubber rand helps protect the ends and sides of your feet from bumps and scrapes. It feels super solid but doesn't make the boots too chunky or heavy, so you can still achieve good precision for scrambling steep ascents and navigating via ferrata routes.
3D Memo Foam cushioning adapts to your foot shape to increase comfort and offers extra support where you need it most while helping to prevent blisters.
A Vibram® Hexa Tech sole gives you plenty of traction on smooth or wet surfaces, gripping the ground using a sticky rubber compound and deep lugs that can dig into softer surfaces.
These boots are also semi-automatic (strap-on) crampon compatible, so if you're exploring in winter, they still work brilliantly and provide exceptional versatility.
