What is the Squall Hooded Jacket?
It's a light yet durable softshell jacket that works perfectly for technical and dynamic missions, especially on the rock face. The Squall provides ample protection in exposed conditions and helps maintain body temperature with added weather protection.
What is it made of?
This jacket is constructed with Exolite 125 and finished with a fluorocarbon-free DWR (durable water repellent).
Exolite is a durable, double-weave softshell made with polyamide and elastane. Lab-tested and field-tested, Exolite is proven to be incredibly durable, completely windproof and worthy of wear in any season.
Fluorocarbon-free DWR encourages light rain and snow to bead off the material instead of soaking in. Fluorocarbons, also known as PFCs, are chemical compounds initially used in DWRs. These compounds can't break down, so once they reach nature via factory water waste, they stay in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. Fluorocarbons are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a greener manufacturing process.
What are the features?
The hood is helmet-compatible and fully adjustable, allowing you to comfortably accommodate different gear and activities without compromising head and neck protection.
An Active Fit sits closer to the body, and articulated, pre-shaped sleeves enhance mobility for technical activities and high reaches.
An overlocked and topstitched construction throughout the jacket makes it look tidy and helps to increase durability by reinforcing each seam.
An offset moulded front zip looks unique yet is incredibly functional. It prevents the zip from rubbing or pinching the face when the jacket is fully zipped.
A Napoleon chest pocket with a zip fastening stores essentials such as snacks, energy gels, and gloves.
Adjustable cuffs cinch in material to keep in the heat and make it easier to accommodate gloves and smartwatches. A dual tether hem drawcord also cinches in the material at the bottom to seal out any cold breezes and maintain a regular temperature.
The entire jacket packs down into the chest pocket; inside the pocket, you get twin carabiner loops to attach the pouch to a backpack, harness, or belt loop to keep the jacket within reach at all times.
