What is the Odyssey Jacket?
The Odyssey Jacket is the ideal waterproof for general UK adventures, whether hill walking, hiking, or trekking. It delivers ample protection and breathability to keep you comfortable all day long.
What is it made of?
This jacket is made with recycled three-layer Drilite® 50D fabric, which has a 75% recycled membrane to help reduce its environmental impact and a fluorocarbon-free DWR (durable water repellent).

Drilite® - Waterproof Drilite® fabric features a hydrophilic, monolithic polyurethane membrane that provides the ultimate wet weather protection whilst remaining lightweight and flexible. It combines years worth of knowledge and experience gathered by Mountain Equipment to provide optimum performance for mountain use, whether trail running or alpine hiking.
Fluorocarbon-free - Fluorocarbons, also known as PFCs, are chemical compounds initially used in DWRs. These compounds can't break down, so once they reach nature via water waste from factories, they stay in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. Fluorocarbons are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a greener manufacturing process.
DWR—Durable water repellent encourages water to bead off the material instead of soaking in. This helps to enhance and maintain breathability, as moisture that builds up within the jacket (usually from sweat) can escape through the material. Once it wets out, the material can, in simple terms, get blocked so that this moisture has nowhere to escape, making it feel damp inside.
What are its features?
This jacket comes with a Mountain Hood, smaller than other variations of M.E hoods and designed for less extreme adventures and those where weight is more of a priority.
It has a waterproof front zip for extra protection, reinforced with an internal flap to help keep the weather out, even when you're wearing the jacket partly zipped.
You also get core venting zips with water-resistant zips, allowing you to dump heat quickly when working hard and gain extra airflow within.
Two large pockets with water-resistant zips provide secure storage for your belongings, such as a mobile phone, gloves, or trail snacks.
Adjustable, laminated cuffs and dual tether hem drawcords help to seal the weather out yet adapt comfortably over extra layers.
This jacket is built with an Alpine fit, which sits closer to the body, and articulated, pre-shaped sleeves to enhance freedom of movement.
