What is the Latok Paclite Plus?
It's a super light, packable shell jacket designed for alpinists and mountaineers who prioritise weight without compromising function. The Latok Paclite Plus is made with reliable Gore-Tex® Paclite Plus, specially developed to provide optimum breathability and waterproof and windproof protection without the weight and bulk of a regular shell.
What is it made of?
There's a clue in the name! The Latok Paclite Plus is made with reliable 2.5 layer Gore-Tex® Paclite Plus.
As mentioned, Gore-Tex® has engineered their Paclite Plus fabric to be both protective and highly breathable, helping to regulate your temperature and helping to prevent sweat from building up inside.
Paclite Plus is exceptionally thin, packable and lightweight. It doesn't compromise performance (of course, it's Gore-Tex®!) - though lightweight, it's fully waterproof and abrasion resistant so that it can take bumps and scrapes in rugged terrain. This material is also fully windproof, helping to shield you from that nasty wind chill when you find yourself exposed at a higher altitude.
What are its features?
This jacket is incredibly packable thanks to its strong yet thin, lightweight material - perfect for stowing away in a kit bag or backpack without adding excessive weight and bulk.
The hood is helmet compatible and has a two-way adjuster to enhance and optimise the fit around different head shapes and sizes or when you have layers underneath. The adjuster can be used with just one hand, meaning even if you're halfway up an ascent, you can quickly adjust the hood with minimal effort or without having to put down any equipment.
The hood also has a stiffened yet flexible peak that helps to divert rain and snow away from the face.
Sleeves are articulated to improve freedom of movement and give you plenty of lift and flexibility around the arms and shoulders, perfect for climbing and scrambling technical routes.
A YKK® Aquaguard front zip is easy to use and enhances the jacket's weather resistance, as Aquaguard zips are fully taped to prevent water from seeping through openings.
Pit zips allow you to dump some heat during intense activities where you might start working up a sweat, and a napoleon pocket provides a space to store energy gels and snacks to keep you fuelled throughout your adventure.
Both the pit zips and the chest pocket are secured with YKK® Aquaguard zips to optimise the weather resistance, keeping your pockets and your pits nice and dry…
All seams are taped accurately to prevent water ingress - it can be easy for rainwater to leak through holes made in the fabric after stitching it together. The taping is refined, neat and not at all bulky, so you won't even notice it's there!
Extended cuffs give you better coverage over the back of the hands. A hook and loop adjustment on each cuff makes it easy to optimise the fit around chunky gloves or mitts.
The hem of the jacket can be adjusted using the dual-sided mitt-friendly rear hem adjuster, which is great for removing dead space around the bottom of the jacket and retaining heat in cold environments.
Finally, the Latok Paclite Plus is finished with a subtle embroidered Rab logo on the chest.
