Great question! The Active Skin 8 provides wearable storage for carrying essentials during fast-paced adventures without hindering movement and performance. It's the perfect accessory for trail running, ultrarunning, fast-hiking and generally any fast-paced, done-in-a-day pursuit.
What is it made of?
This running vest comprises nylon and elastane to create something lightweight, moisture wicking and breathable yet incredibly durable to survive in rugged terrain and withstand regular use. The elastane offers a good stretch, making it comfortable to wear and offering the flexibility you need for more technical adventures.
Which carry system does it use?
A 3D comfort backsystem provides support where needed most.
3D Airmesh shoulder straps incorporate small cavities into their construction to increase airflow, providing effective ventilation around contact points and helping to decrease sweat build-up.
What are its features?
Sensifit™ technology utilises the stretchy material to optimise the fit and stability of the vest, which is then enhanced with lightweight adjustments.
A sternum strap enables you to adjust the vest on the fly to minimise faff and stop time. Elasticated panels also make it easier to breathe when you pick up the pace or start working up a steep incline.
For hydration, the Active Skin 8 comes with two 500ml soft flasks that fit into the pockets perfectly, so you won't have to worry about investing in alternative bottles! Or, suppose you'd prefer to hook up a larger bladder for more extended missions, humid conditions or more intense activities. In that case, the internal bladder compartment (up to 1.5L capacity) and hanging strap will hold it in place securely, and the sewn-in exit port for a tube allows you to drink on the go easily.
Two front stretch pockets are ideal for storing energy gels, trail snacks or a small guidebook, and a key holder does exactly what it says on the tin (so to speak) - it holds your keys! There's also an elastic gear carrier and a back compartment with a large opening for bulkier essentials like an extra shell layer, gloves or a hat.
Finally, additional loops to accommodate walking poles allow you to store them properly, ensuring they don't get in your way as you move.
