What is the Fussel UL Quilt?
It's an ultra-lightweight quilt that makes a fantastic alternative to a sleeping bag for in warmer weather. The Fussel UL Quilt provides coverage and warmth with lesser weight and bulk for minimal adventures, whether thru-hiking, camping, travelling or even camping at a festival.
You can use this quilt alone or even to provide additional warmth to your sleeping bag.
What is it made of?
Outer: The outer shell comprises tough nylon ripstop, which is strong and abrasion resistant to survive regular use in various environments. It's treated with a PFC-free water repellent to prevent any spills or light rain from soaking in. Although, please note that this doesn't make it completely waterproof.
Lining: Big Agnes has used GRS-certified 100% recycled polyester to line the quilt, giving it a smooth, silky feel. This material is incredibly lightweight, and though it's recycled, it doesn't skimp on quality and performance. Like the outer material, it's also treated with a PFC-free water repellent.
If you were wondering, GRS-certification (Global Recycled Standard) means the products' recycled content has been tracked and verified, giving the Fussell some extra eco-friendly credentials.
Insulation: 850 fill power DownTek™ down insulation provides optimum warmth, less weight, and more packability. DownTek™ insulation repels water while helping to retain warmth, performing similarly to synthetic insulation with the added benefits of using real down. How, you ask? The down is treated with a PFC-free water-repellent treatment, meaning it can resist light rain or morning coffee spills - however, please note that this doesn't make it completely waterproof.

Fill power - Fill power measures the warmth and efficiency of the down, alongside its ability to loft/fluff up. A rating of 850 fill power means that 1oz of this down fills 850 cubic inches of space when fully lofted.
PFC-free - A PFC-free treatment is a much more sustainable alternative to conventional DWR methods; these treatments don't use harmful per/polyflourinated chemicals, otherwise known as 'forever chemicals', that are toxic to our environment and stay in the atmosphere permanently, reducing their environmental impact overall.

An integrated snap system allows you to transform the quilt into a sleeping bag for all-around warmth on colder nights. The Fussel UL is compatible with any pad size or shape, making it adaptable to your camping set-up for various adventures and conditions.
Ten snap patches enable you to fix the quilt to your sleeping mat, helping to stop it from slipping everywhere throughout the night!
A cinch cord around the top of the quilt means you can draw the fabric in around the shoulders for maximum heat retention. The cord is easy to use and can be adjusted with one hand if you're occupied making a brew or feeling too chilly to expose both arms.
The quilt's outer is made with a stitch-free construction to provide maximum thermal efficiency and water resistance, as no holes (usually created by stitching) will allow cold air or water to seep through.
Thanks to the minimalistic footbox design, you have enough room to move your feet without it being excessive space and adding extra grams and size.
A storage sack and stuff sack are included to help keep your quilt in optimum condition when either packed into a kit bag, backpack, or stored at home. Stuffing it in the storage sack instead of folding it will help to prevent gaps in the insulation created by folding the quilt like you would a regular blanket. This increases the quilt's overall longevity and helps maintain a good level of performance and warmth so that it'll last you longer.
