What is the Pioneer 3EX?The Pioneer is a hugely spacious, stable, high-quality tunnel tent suitable for three users and their kit. An expansive porch gives you a nice place to cook, get changed or simply relax when the weather's not on your side.
What is it made of?The Flysheet is made from Robens' HydroTex Core fabric, a tough 75D polyester fabric that features a fire-retardant treatment and polyurethane coating, resulting in a fully waterproof shelter with a hydrostatic head of 3000mm. As well as offering complete protection, it's also one of the more breathable options available, making it great for our varied UK conditions. All seams in the tent are fully sealed, so you're guaranteed to stay dry provided everything is pitched correctly! The inner is made from a similar 68D polyester, but with the exception of all the weatherproof coatings.
How is it constructed?The Pioneer is a tunnel tent, meaning it looks a bit like a tunnel when pitched and excels in windy conditions. Thanks to its long, relatively narrow shape, it'll more than easily fit 3 users over 6ft in the sleeping area and will allow wind to glide over the top in exposed environments. Pitching is super simple thanks to three colour-coded poles and the ability to leave the inner attached to the flysheet for future excursions.
What are its features?A large side door gives you easy access to the vestibule and can be pinned back in good conditions. The inner door has a built-in mosquito net to give you some privacy and added ventilation. Speaking of ventilation, the Pioneer features rain-protected vents at the front and rear, meaning you can reduce condensation build-up even in foul conditions. Lastly, Robens include a waterproof stuffsack to keep the tent safe and protected when not in use.
