Created from Artilect's high-performance Nuyarn Merino fabric technology, it provides lasting comfort, excellent breathability and a superior warmth-to-weight ratio. What is it made from?
The Flatiron 185 is made with 185GSM Nuyarn merino for an unmatched warmth-to-weight ratio. Artilect's unique Nuyarn Merino material uses a blend of merino wool and nylon. Merino wool is renowned for being naturally odour-resistant, durable, breathable and moisture-wicking. The wool in this material is non-mulesed, so no animals were forced to endure cruel and painful processes as a result.
Nuyarn technology enhances the performance of merino wool by using a patented twist-free process to construct the yarns instead of traditional spinning methods. It drafts the fibres along a high-performance filament, which amplifies its natural properties for unparalleled performance, offering superior next-to-skin benefits. It has a 5x faster drying time and 35% more stretch and loft (lessening the weight). Nuyarn is also 53% less wind permeable and 50% more durable than standard merino, and it still uses 30% less raw materials! Pretty impressive, huh?
What are its features?
The Flatiron Crew features an easy-to-wear crew neckline and long-length sleeves. It feels exceptionally soft next to the skin and comfortable enough to wear for practically any activity. It's so comfy that you won't want to take it off! Thankfully its natural odour resistance means that you can wear it for longer between washes without offending your campmates.
Underarm gussets are strategically placed for increased breathability and performance, allowing this tee to work just as well for high-output activities as it does for relaxing off-duty days.
Created with a modern fit, the Boulder Crew provides excellent coverage whether it's tucked into your leggings or not. Thumbholes on the sleeve provide added comfort, meaning no skin is exposed to the cold. They also make layering up easier and more comfortable by stopping material from sliding and bunching up your arm.
No-chafe flatlock seams reduce the bulk and prevent the stitching from rubbing uncomfortably against the skin whilst wearing it for long periods of time, making it ideal for long trails and multi-day adventures across the seasons.
