What is the Aerotherm Vest?
It's a lightweight, windproof, fast-drying vest that protects you from cool spring breezes to keep you warm all day, whether hill walking, hiking, trail running, or running daily errands.
What is it made of?
This gilet uses Exolite 45 stretch double weave, made from polyamide (nylon), with a recycled micro-grid, moisture-wicking lining.
Lab-tested and field-tested, Exolite is proven to be incredibly durable, completely windproof and worthy of wear in any season.
It's finished with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) to help enhance weather resistance and encourage light rain and snow to bead away instead of soaking in.
Fluorocarbons, also known as PFCs, are chemical compounds initially used in DWRs. These compounds can't break down, so once they reach nature via water waste from factories, they stay in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. Fluorocarbons are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a greener manufacturing process.
The micro-grid lining comprises recycled polyester, which feels soft against the skin. The grid structure of this fleece material allows for maximum breathability and will enhance moisture-wicking performance tenfold to prevent sweat and moisture buildup.
What are its features?
A moulded centre-front zip provides easy access and ventilation when needed most.
Two zipped hand pockets and one chest pocket keep essential belongings secure, such as trail snacks, energy gels, a mobile phone, or doggy bags.
There's a semi-elasticated hem and armholes that cinch in gaping fabric without feeling restrictive to make it easier to layer a shell or insulated jacket over the top.
The entire vest packs into its own pocket and has twin karabiner loops that allow you to attach it to a hip belt, backpack, or climbing harness, keeping it to hand throughout your adventure.
