What are the Windjammer Lite Gloves?
The Windjammer Lite Gloves are windproof, water resistant gloves with a reinforced palm that suit a variety of outdoor activities. They offer a great level of breathability without compromising durability and protection. These gloves are a must-have accessory for cold, drier days when it's blowing a hooley across the mountains.
What are they made of?
Montane has used Gore-Tex® Infinium™ Windstopper® softshell with a microfleece backer as the main fabric while reinforcing the palm and fingers with goat leather to improve durability.
Gore-Tex® Infinium™ Windstopper® offers complete windproof protection without compromising breathability and comfort. It's water resistant, encouraging light rain and snow to bead off. However, this doesn't mean it is completely waterproof, so, unfortunately, if you get caught in a heavy downpour, you may feel water seep through.
Goat leather is considered one of the most robust leathers, hence why it has been used on high wear points such as the palms and fingers. Goat leather is also exceptionally supple, allowing the hand to move around when handling kit or scrambling on tricky terrain.
What are their features?
One of the highlight features of these gloves is that they're touchscreen compatible! You won't have to worry about braving the cold and taking your gloves off when navigating a mobile phone or GPS device - saving yourself a lot of time and faff if you're on a faster paced mountain mission.
The nose-wipe on the thumb feels soft on the skin. It gives you somewhere to wipe away those pesky sniffles while helping prevent your skin chafing and chapping when it's being rubbed dry in the cold. Sounds a little gross, right? Sure. But, we guarantee it'll be a detail you can't live without when there's not a tissue in sight. And anyway, it happens to all of us!
The fingers have precurved digits and roll top fingers that feel much more natural in shape and comfortable to wear for more extended periods. The low profile cuff cuts out the bulk, making it easy to tuck underneath your shell jacket and retain as much warmth as possible.
