What is the Bug Barrier™ Snap Brim Sun Hat?
It's a technical sun hat with a classic brim style, perfect for camping, hiking and hill-walking, or even lounging around in the garden during the summer. This traditional looking hat has built-in technology to ward off bugs and insects to help keep you comfortable and protected all summer long.
What is it made of?
Royal Robbins has used 100% polyester which feels light and breathable in humid conditions. It wicks moisture and sweat away efficiently and dries quickly to help you feel a little fresher when working up a sweat in the mountains.
What are its features?
The hat has specialised Bug Barrier™ technology built into the fabric, which helps to repel annoying creepy crawlies that potentially carry disease. The Bug Barrier™ uses Insect Shield®, an EPA registered treatment applied to the fabric, the technology is proven to provide long lasting, effective protection. It's super handy when you're spending a weekend away in the Scottish Highlands or exploring more tropical climates abroad on more extended expeditions.
The brim of the hat measures 2.5" which offers sufficient coverage on exposed, open routes. The brim snaps to the crown around the sides of the hat which offers a better peripheral vision for tackling steeper ascents or more challenging, varied terrain. Mesh panels offer extra ventilation by allowing air to move through more easily, helping to regulate temperature and reducing the amount of warm air being trapped inside.
At the back of the hat is a cinch system that allows you to tailor the fit and get it exactly right.
