What are the Pac Plus XT pants?
The Pac Plus XT pants are a pair of lightweight, packable waterproof trousers that have been built to offer protection from the elements. They are the perfect pair of trousers to keep stashed in your pack and will go unnoticed until they are needed. Designed with more room for movement and extra layers, they are a great pair of pants to chuck on when you’re trekking, scrambling and walking. Thanks to the long side zips, you don’t even have to take off your boots when you put these on.
What are the Pac Plus XT Pants made from?
Their incredible sub 325g weight and pack size is predominantly down to the use of 150 Denier Gore-tex Paclite Plus. Unlike previous generations of Paclite, Paclite Plus is incredibly comfortable next to skin, even when wet. Previous generations of Paclite would stick to your skin and feel particularly clammy, something that isn't the case with Paclite Plus. Its two-layer construction that not only offers great breathability but also the reliable durability of Gore-Tex in torrential downpours. The new abrasion resistant treatment of the inner surface ensures the trousers are longer lasting and offers more reliable protection. This treatment also makes the trousers easier to slip on and off, ideal when moving fast and getting caught out in a downpour. The 150D Nylon is tough and incredibly durable, but Montane have also added Schoeller Keprotec Kevlar insteps for greater abrasion resistance and durability.
What are the features?
Starting at the top, you have an elasticated waistband with an adjustable drawcord allowing you to adjust the trousers to your desired fit. Down the side of each leg is a 3/4 length two-way YKK Aquaguard zip, giving you easy access into and out of the trousers, as well as allowing you to partially unzip them for extra ventilation. The articulated knees and diamond gusset allow for freedom of movement which is particularly important when you’re out scrambling. The bottom of the trousers have a press stud ankle adjustment making them compatible with larger boots. The Pac Plus XT Pants can also be worn with a pair of Montane Braces for extra support.
