What are the Terra Lite Pants?
These are like a summer-weight version of the classic Montane Terra Pants. Just as functional, comfy and durable, but with less bulky, more breathable fabric that feels much nicer in warmer climates, whether hill walking during the summer or you're lucky enough to be exploring abroad.
What are they made of?
These trousers are made with Vector Lite material that's super lightweight yet durable. For all the kit nerds out there (we see you), the material is similar to the Arc'teryx TerraTex® material, but not exactly the same. It's fast drying, making it ideal for intense activities or when you're venturing off the path. Vector Lite also provides sun protection of UP50+, so leave that greasy sun cream at home!... Only kidding. Please don't do that.
The material is coated with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent), which enhances water resistance without using chemicals that are harsh to the environment.
What are their features?
It has a removable webbing belt with a low-profile hook closure, which is a huge bonus. It's lightweight, durable and super flexible, making it perfect for more technical mountain pursuits. However, if you want to minimise weight or just find it comfier without, you can simply take it off. You could even wear it with another pair of trousers!
The zipped fly and button closure at the front makes it easy to answer the call of nature if you need to and keeps your pants nicely in place, with your undies out of sight - as long as you remember to fasten them back up afterwards.
For storage, two mesh-lined hand pockets sit out of the way on each side. They make a great place to store smaller essentials like snacks and energy gels, or double up as ventilation for when you're working up a sweat.
There's also a rear zipped pocket and front thigh pocket, ideal for storing bulkier items like a mobile phone or GPS, as it keeps them from hindering your movement when stretching or stepping up high.
