What are the Chamois Pants?
These are versatile softshell pants designed for year-round use. They're ideal for virtually any adventure, whether hiking, trekking, scrambling, or mountaineering, making them a vital addition to your outdoor wardrobe.
What are they made of?
These trousers are made using Exolite 210 stretch double weave, which is comprised of a polyamide elastane blend. Lab-tested and field-tested, Exolite is proven to be incredibly durable, completely windproof and worthy of wear in any season.
The material is finished with a fluorocarbon-free DWR (durable water repellent) for extra weather protection. This treatment encourages light rain and snow to bead off the material instead of soaking in. However, this does not mean it's fully waterproof.
Fluorocarbons, also known as PFCs, are chemical compounds initially used in DWRs. These compounds can't break down, so once they reach nature via water waste from factories, they stay in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. Fluorocarbons are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a greener manufacturing process.
What are their features?
These trousers come with two zipped hand pockets and one rear zipped pocket, perfect for storing small essentials such as keys, a mobile phone, a GPS device, or trail snacks. They also feature two zipped thigh vent pockets with mesh lining, which easily hold small items yet can be left empty and unzipped for ventilation if you're working hard.
An integrated belt makes for easy adjustment and feels comfortable and low bulk. The waist also has a press stud closure fore easy access.
The Alpine fit with articulated knees sits closer to the body, allowing for more precision during technical pursuits, yet enhances mobility around vital areas.
Ankle zips with an internal gusset panel accommodate all mountain boots, no matter their height or size, making these trousers perfect for various adventures and seasons.
