What are the Alpine Mountain Pro Winter Pants?
These are comfortable, stretchy trousers built especially for winter adventures. They're versatile enough to take you from trail to town, thanks to their casual, stripped-back design, and built with bluesign® approved materials.
What are they made of?
These pants use a recycled polyester elastane blend to provide a four-way stretch that is durable, wrinkle resistant and quick drying. They're fleece lined to create a luxurious next-to-skin feel and provide extra warmth in colder climates.
Polyester is lightweight and smooth, and the elastane offers flexibility, optimising freedom of movement for various activities. As previously mentioned, the blend is bluesign® approved, meaning it is safe for the environment, consumers and workers involved in the production process.
The material is finished with a non-fluorinated DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to add extra protection from light rain showers or snow. However, DWR doesn't offer complete waterproof protection, so if the weather looks unpredictable, you might want to pack a shell layer just in case.
Non-fluorinated DWR's are much more eco-friendly as they don't use per- or poly-fluorinated chemicals that cause harm to food chains once released back into the environment through factory waste.
What are their features?
The multi-flex waistband uses low profile elastic, enhancing the fit and allowing better mobility without adding extra bulk. It has a built-in drawcord adjustment to improve the fit. You can fasten the front of the trousers with the easy-to-use 'Locking Snap' closure that provides additional security and flexibility.
For storage, there are two drop-in hand pockets for small items like energy gels, snacks, keys or earbuds, and two drop-in back pockets for bulkier belongings such as a purse, mobile phone or GPS device.
The ankle cuffs are adjustable, allowing you to cinch them in for added weather protection and heat retention. These adjusters are also handy to adapt the fit around your footwear, depending on whether you're wearing high or low-ankle shoes or boots.
